Write Out Acronyms — Then Use Them

ATS systems and recruiters from outside your niche need the long form.

Industry acronyms can read as expertise — or as gatekeeping. Spell them out the first time.

Do this today

  • First use: "Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC)"
  • After that: "CAC" is fine
  • For deep technical acronyms, include the spelled form even if it's obvious in your domain
  • Match the JD — if the role posts "OKRs," use "OKRs"

When in doubt, spell it out. A few extra characters never lost an interview.
